Lisa Leszczewicz, Company Member
Leszczewicz hails from Chicago's Southside and holds a BA in Dancemaking from Columbia College. She is a founding member of Laboratory Dancers, continuing her dedication to the company through their current collaborations, both near and abroad. She also teaches with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, bringing arts integration and skill-building to several Chicago Public Schools and community organizations. Leszczewicz is an avid musician and performance artist, currently crafting a solo series of multimedia vignettes. Alongside the realm of creation and performance, Leszczewicz is completing her prerequisite courses in order to obtain a graduate degree Community Psychology, which she hopes to interweave with her dance and teaching practices.
When she was in high school, the cross country coach always asked Leszczewicz to join the team, and she always refused, opting to continue focusing on dance and theatre pursuits. Little did she know, ten years later, these callings would coalesce in the form of The Great River Run. She hopes that somewhere Mr. Heidloff can sense her very literal fulfilment of his cross country dreams, and know that she's made them her own.
